The Dallas Cowboys are often proclaimed to be America’s team. Tonight, America’s team has the tremendous opportunity to lead by example on Monday Night Football. Jerry, I understand that you were one of several NFL team owners to donate $1 million to Trump’s inauguration festivities.
The New England Patriots Owner, Robert Kraft, and the Jacksonville Jaguars Owner, Shahid Khan, also donated this sum to Trump. But both these owners and their organizations, among others, have rebuked Trump for his recent speech in Alabama where he asked the audience if they would “love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now, he’s fired’?”
Mr. Jones, when other owners have spoken out and stood shoulder-to-shoulder with their players on the field, your silence and inaction have been deafening.
